    As written on the Princess Royal Locomotive class trust's website: Saturday 6th November 2010
    10am – 4.30pm
    At the West Shed,
    Midland Railway Centre – Swanwick Jct.

    LAST CHANCE TO HAVE A RIDE BEHIND THE
    ‘DUCHESS’ FOR UP TO 2 YEARS!

    This will be the last chance to see 6233 running before major overhaul commences.
    On November 8th the Duchess will be stripped down to enable work to start. This major overhaul is expected to take up to 2 years to be completed, so this is your last
    chance to see the Duchess running for some time!

    THE RETURN OF STANDARD TANK LOCOMOTIVE 80080

    Following completion of a heavy general overhaul, November 6th will be the first outing of 80080 on a service train since being withdrawn for work 10 years ago!

    We will be ‘running in’ 80080 from Monday 8th – Friday 12th November at
    the Midland Railway. During this period we are offering you the chance to
    have a footplate ride on 80080 for £50 (half day). Places are very limited so if you are interested please contact Kate on 01773 743986 or send an email to: bookings@pmrtours.co.uk

    WHAT’S HAPPENING ON NOVEMBER 6th?

    6233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’ and standard tank 80080 will be running on the
    Midland Railway line during the day, with the Trust’s LMS Inspection Saloon 6320
    attached for the use of Patrons and Friends of the Duchess.

    Also at the West Shed there will be:

    * Licensed bar
    * Food
    * Live music
    * Displays and guided tours

    Admission to the West Shed event is free, but visitors must go to the Midland Railway's Butterley station to travel by train (being hauled by the Duchess & 80080) to Swanwick, where they can alight to visit the West Shed. Normal Midland Railway train ticket prices will apply - please see www.midlandrailwaycentre.co.uk for details and directions. This does not apply to PRCLT Patrons/ Friends of the Duchess, who have already received invitations and can come directly to the West Shed.
