Blue Peter, in Blue, somehow it seems right, Is this its finished livery, just awaiting lining, or will it reappear in BG green, I'm hoping its going to stay blue, with the Black and white lining,

I suspect it'll be staying Blue. Bittern's second tender is painted blue and is currently at Crewe being worked on for use behind 60007, 60532 and when overhauled 4464.

This was bad enough. At least they could take the damned thing off! 04-Blue-Peter,-Warkworth-Moor,-26-April-1998-fbook.jpg

Had it on the Ayr Raider tour for my 13th Birthday present back in 1997 around the same time it started to be let of the leash a bit ;)
Looking forward to a reunion with it a some point soon :)

Was that the Edinburgh to King's Cross run in 1998? I joined it at York on the way back. I also met Konnie Huq on the train at well - don't get jealous @Matt37401!

I believe so. That pic is near Warkworth in Northumberland, southbound. I have it down as 26th April 98, but Six Bells Junction has no mention of it.

EDIT. Googling suggests a date of 19th April for the journey, so I might be a week out in my date.

Definitely the 19th! The episode aired on the 6th of May and here’s a link to the episode on YouTube:

Are we likely to see the A1, A2, A3, and A4 lineup at Barrow Hill when Tornado is finally back on the main line - I do hope so

That looks – just superb, but...

I do hope those numerals are just temporary – it’s not Gill Sans – well, not Doncaster or Darlington versions anyway.

After an eight year overhaul and 22 years out of action, and a loco that is literally just out of the box and in undercoat, can you just maybe think a little before you post? FFS it’s not even run in yet and you’re having a little moan.
