    WINTER LECTURE SERIES 2012-13

    The Altrincham Electric Railway Preservation Society (AERPS) is pleased to announce details of its 31st Winter Lecture Series:

    Friday 12th October 2012 "From Roade to York" colour slides of steam and modern traction at home and overseas from 1963 to the present day by Robin Patrick.

    Friday 9th November 2012 "30 Years of Steam Photography" a colour slide presentation by Phil Taylor.

    Friday 14th December 2012 "Steam Saved from the Scrapyard" a colour slide presentation by Tom Heavyside.

    Friday 11th January 2013 "Transport around Manchester from 1750" a colour slide presentation by Chris Makepeace.

    Friday 8th February 2013 "The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway" a digital presentation by Bob Barnard.

    Friday 8th March 2013 "The ICI Hopper Trains" a colour slide presentation by Brian Arnold.

    Friday 12th April 2013 "Current Developments on Metrolink" a digital presentation by Tony Williams, Manchester Area Officer, Light Rail Transit Association.

    Each lecture is held at Altrincham Methodist Church Hall, Barrington Road, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 1HF. Car park Springfield Road or short walk from Altrincham Bus/Rail/Metrolink Interchange.

    Talks commence at 7.30 p.m.. Refreshments (coffee/tea and biscuits) are provided inclusive of the admission price.

    Admission costs £3.00 - Free for AERPS members!

    The AERPS owns two 1931 ex-Manchester South Junction & Altrincham Railway coaches which are based at the Midland Railway-Butterley near Ripley in Derbyshire.
