    Hello all,

    Just a quick note to say that the Amerton Railway Gala is in less than two weeks, and we are hoping to have 6 locos in steam this year. We are hoping to have resident Bagnall Isabel back in steam after some work over the winter, there will also be resident locos Paddy and Jennie, regular visitor Peter Pan, Barclay Jack, and something from Statfold.

    I understand that the overhaul of Jung 3175 isn't complete, but another loco from Statfold Barn will take its place - do you know what this will be?

    Also, is the work on Isabel complete?

    I've never been to Amerton before (always seems to clash with something on Saturday and no chance by public transport on Sunday), but I'm hoping to get there this year. The Jung and Isabel were the only locos I required - hence my questions.

    Unfortunately the Jung will not be ready, Statfold will take it's place. Isabel will not be quite ready either.

    Thanks for the info. If the weather is nice on Sunday I can see a family outing happening but very disappointed about Isabel.

    Hasn't Paddy also been withdrawn from the line up? Hear it had big problems last weekend? It would be good if someone could confirm which engines will be out now. Also will the freights be running smokebox first this year and will they be formed of V skips or ex MoD wagons? Hoping for the former.

    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks for the update. I'll still try to get there on Saturday, in spite of both of my required locos being no shows, as I've never been before.

    Hi,

    Paddy has had issues and will not be at Amerton for our Gala. The locos running will be as follows;

    Statfold
    Jack
    Jennie
    Peter Pan

    We need to do some tests but hope to run the skips along with a MoD freight and the passenger train. These tests will also help us decide in which directions we can run the freights.

    There will also be a few other attractions with some vintage tractors on display and a 1897 Fowler Allen 10 ton Steam Roller.

    Does anyone know the identity of the steam roller that was at Amerton on Saturday? It wasn't a builder that I recognised (began with P, I think) and it disappeared before I got a photo of it.

    It's a Fowler/Allen, and was first time out in 8 years after an extensive overhaul.
