Amerton Gala 19th & 20th June 2010

    The Amerton Railway will be holding it's annual gala on the 19th & 20th June.

    In steam will be the resident locos Isabel, Jennie and Paddy. There will also be visiting locos Kerr Stuart Wren Peter Pan, And O&K Max.

    There will be freight and passenger trains running from 11:00 to 17:00.

    Just a reminder that the Amerton Summer Steam Gala is this weekend.

    It will be a great weekend with 5 locos in steam running 1 passenger train and 2 freight trains. Your never far from the action as the 1 mile railway is a loop, and there will be access to the fields it runs through. There yard will also be open for you to have a look around with some of the diesels on display.

    Trains will be running from 11:00 till 17:00.

    Will all 5 locos be working passenger trains? Is MAX repaired after it's failure at Statfold Barn last Saturday?

    All 5 locos will work on the passenger trains throughout the day, although Paddy will probably be paired with another engine.

    Max is repaired and will be coming over for the weekend.

    Spent a lovely sunny sunday afternoon there. All 5 locos in steam interchanging between the passenger service running clockwise and two freights running anticlockwise between two line loops. First time I have had time to spent time there whilst trains have been running. Nice to be able to walk around the fields at will to pick the shots you wanted as well - nice day out !

    Only down side for me was (which had nothing to do with the railway) was being stuck on the M6 on the way home for 2 1/2 hours due to an accident - hope they are ok
