    Although perhaps most famous for its numerous narrow gauge railways, Austria also has a formidable line-up of main line steam locomotives, first and foremost of course the amazing 2-6-4 "Adriatic" 310.23 from 1911 with its hunched boiler and huge driving wheels.

    Here a selection of photos from steam in Austria in late October and early November 2016, from both the main line and different rural railways.
