With a good start to the year and a busy Beer Festival over the weekend just past the AVR is looking ahead for whats set to be a busy summer, with the number of train services steadily increasing as the months go by.

Some of you may be interested to know that we now provide a loco roster on our website. It can be found under the "news" section here.

Check out our website for our timetable and events too, theres plenty going on over the summer. Looking ahead a bit further, Sunday 24th October sees our End of Season Gala, which should include visiting loco N7 No. 69621.

Keep an eye on our website for futher details or get in touch via this forum. I hope to update this thread as we get more information.

Hey all. I am looking at one the the near future DVD's to be about Avon Valley Railway and am requesting the help of those out there whom have filmed or photographed the railway to be ever so kind in allowing the footage to be supplied and put into a DVD that can then be sold on. With your co-operating a DVD could be made and then sold with Heritage In Motion making donations to the Railway for future preservation. To those of whom supply any relevant pieces will not only be credited for their thanks in supply but also at liberty to recieve a free copy of the DVD.

If you are able to help please get in touch me with

    Many Thanks

    Neil

    Neil,

Have you been in touch with the Station? I'm sure many of our members will be interested in providing footage for this if we can get the word around Bitton. If you want drop me an email to newseditor (at) avonvalleyrailway.org and I will pass your details on.

Read the date on the message referring to Oct 24th! It's 2010! The N7 was replaced by the N2 nearer the time.

This year's gala is as you state, (and Sat 15th also) but the thread has been going for a long time!

Incidentally, anyone know if Jessie is rostered next Tues, Weds or Thurs please? It'll save me contacting the railway.

It was Jessie yesterday, and should be today (Weds) and Thurs. Nice loco, some decent noise.
Nearly a couple of mashed blackberry pickers the wrong side of the fence.....the driver escorted one over the fence, who seemed unconcerned and unrepentent, idiot!
Unfortunately the kitchen car was next to the loco at the northern, uphill, end of the line, out of use yesterday, but preventing close access to the loco. Why lug 30 odd tonnes of empty metal around all day, wasting coal?
