Still at Bury, as far as I know. Is the reassembly ongoing?

As far as I'm aware it's still undergoing reassembly.

When there is some news to share, I will make sure it is shared.
As they say though, no news is good news......

It's due to make an apperanance at the North Norfolk's steam gala on the 2-4 September in Apple Green. 61572 will work alongside 43106 and 45305 at this weekend, so with that in mind things must be going well!

Just because it's hoped to run during a gala does not mean it will though.

Mark from the NNR said he would hopefully know what's going on with the B12 by the end of this week and would let us know.

Absolutely, but if that's the hopes then we do have an idea of the general time frame we expect to see 61572 turned out.

The B12 has now been formally withdrawn from the NNR's Grand Steam Gala.
The reassembly is progressing well and as the society stated before, she will be ready when she is ready. She won't be rushed.
The M&GN Society are still committed to returning 8572 to LNER Apple Green and it's first passenger trains will be on the NNR too.

all's gone quiet on the B12 front... Even the website doesn't seem to have any update? Is there any information anyone can update us with?

Early september, some pics appeared on facebook of the boiler completely clad and painted. Not sure how the rest of the work is coming along though.

I would think a lot of jobs at Bury have been pushed back by the continuous problems with 4472.

Mr Riley has refuted any such suggestion and in particular similar claims made in SR394.

They seem to be the Railway Mag version of the News of The World.......................

That is being very unfair..................to the late and unlamented News of the world. At least their stories usually did have a factual base somewhere, as much as they tried to bury it

Fair enough. He's probably in the best position to say! Hopefully not too long before we see the B12 again. Is it going to become the only working inside cylinder 4-6-0 in Europe again?

I'd settle for it being the only working B12 in East Anglia, a Portugese Henschel working again would be good - dream-on!
