    Hi all

The Battlefield Line will host a Spring Steam Gala over March 28th/29th 2015

The visiting engine for this event will be:

    * 2-6-2 Large Prairie Tank, GWR No4141, courtesy of the Epping Ongar Railway

Joining 4141 will be our long term visitor GWR 3803, the 2884 Class 2-8-0. 3803 will be making a special appearance in BR Unlined Black for the first time in preservation. 3803 appears courtesy of the South Devon Railway

Finally, Shackerstone resident Peckett 0-6-0ST "Sir Gomer" will be in action

    For more info see
    www.battlefieldline.co.uk

The weekend will see an intensive passenger service in operation with All Day Breakfasts available on our Griddle Car

The Timetable Is Now Available For This Weekends Steam Up

See http://www.battlefieldline.co.uk/Steam Gala March 2015 Public Timetable.pdf for more details

In short we have 8 departures each day from Shackerstone. Saturday includes two freight runs (morning and evening) and Sunday also features a morning freight. On Sunday evening the freight is replaced by a double-headed passenger train.

Join us for a special Steam Up weekend to celebrate the start of the new season here at the Battlefield Line and to celebrate the visit of GWR 4141. This, I believe, will be 4141s last weekend in steam with us before returning home.

So come along and see BR Green 4141 and, for the first time in preservation, BR Black 3803! :D

Will "Sir Gomer" be confined to Shakerstone?

At present, it is looking unlikely that we can get Gomer ready in time. 4141 and 3803 may well go it alone

Had a good day with our prarie today, and was made welcome by the crews. Nice little line, looked after the engine well.
