A sad piece of news from one who used to visit the line in the 1950s when visiting an aunt who lived in Bearley village. Although steam still operated, the local service between Leamington Spa and Stratford was provided by the Class 122 Bubble Cars with a choice of a quick visit to the main line at Hatton for the last of the Kings and Castles on the Paddington services whilst in the other direction a visit to Stratford to see what visiting locos were bringing in the excursion trains. As noted by Martin another piece of railway heritage being lost in the name of progress - what will be next to go ?
