    PROFESSIONAL crooks are being blamed for the theft of a priceless piece of railway history.

    The number plate from the Furness Railway’s most famous loco — Coppernob — has been stolen from under the noses of staff at the National Railway Museum.

    The 1846-built engine is one of the Victorian icons of the national collection at York.
