Hi anyone that would like to see Bittern on her return journey back to the MHR. The times are now out on UK steam info. Once she's back on MHR metals she should be facing smoke box out of Alresford.

60019 is currently facing Minehead and the WSR Steam Gala Programme says it's currently above the permitted load for Minehead turntable. Any ideas how its going to turn before the run back to Alton?

Don't hold me to this. But I seem to remember there is a triangle in the Guildford area.

The question was more in relation to how will it be turned in the vicinity of the WSR, to prevent tender first running back to the MHR.

I wonder if they will split the loco and turn both halves on the Minehead turntable :-k

    Regards,

    Dan

Bristol? How's the triangle at Norton coming along?

Almost certainly on the Minehead turntable after the gala, as part of the turntable testing programme. The turntable is undergoing an incremental certification process involving engines of progressively increasing size and weight. The fallback would be to run tender first as far as Westbury, en route back to the Mid Hants, although the current times make no provision for this.

So did they manage to turn Bittern at Minehead? I see that the move has now been postponed till tomorrow anyway.

When I left WSR this morning she was still facing Minehead and she was at BL ready for the move tomorrow.

Went through Reading around 1405 on Platform 9 which caught me out! Only a very brief stop.

Followed a couple of minutes later by a WCR '47' with a single MkII from the green train which I assume was heading for Southall. Bonus!

Caught me out as well, nearly missed it as I was leaving work at 2PM, especially after yesterday's abortive wait.
Wasn't there a Green Train MK2 in an empty stock move up north recently? Somebody commented is wasn't the one with the flats.
    Probably the same one returning.

Apparently this mk2 has had a bogie change due to the flats on it and 2 other coaches have also arrived back to join the set after being turned on the ground lathe at Tyseley, these 3 being added to the others also done in January.
