    Afternoon All,

I spent a few days on the bodensee in May and sailed in several of the boats that ply up and down that attractive stretch of water. Some of them such as the MV 'Schwaben', the MV 'Karlsruhe' and the MV 'Austria' are pre-war and although still in everyday service and thus not preserved, they are, at least in my view, definitely heritage.

I took some pictures and if anyone cares to see them, they are here :

    and here :

There are some pictures of the more modern boats as well, although the MV 'Konstanz', for example, is 46 years old, and if she isn't heritage yet, she soon will be!

To give you a taster, here's the elegant lines of the 1937 built 'Karlsruhe' as she leaves the harbour at Lindau :

and here she is again at Bregenz :

Clicking on the pictures will enlarge them and take you to the others.

Hope that they are of interest.

    Morning All,

Fot those of you that are interested in things nautical, I have added a few more pictures of boats on the Bodensee to my Fotopic site.

They are currently to be found here in the 'Stop Press!' collection :

In due course, however, I shall move them to the 'Canals and Inland Waterways Abroad' collection and they will then be found here :

Hope that they are of interest,
