This Saturday.29th September, is Diesel Gala Day, which as always needs everyone's support to keep mainline Diesel Preservation alive in Cornwall. My information, with thanks to a Tom Goodman, bearing in mind that the Bodmin and Wenford railway is currently having problems with both its internet and phone systems, is (subject to last minute change and alteration):

Locos rostered 08444,33110,37142,47306,50042. covering 9 departures from Bodmin General starting at 0915 and finishing at 1855.

The guest is a First GW class 150-making a first ever visit to the Railway, and covering numerous trips over each line, commencing from Parkway at 10.10, returning there at 1700.

Hopefully website and phones will be up and running before then.

    Regards

    John

A very successful day, with mainly sunny weather, although 37142 was unable to perform in the afternoon. Trains were well supported and certainly a good range of diesel power. Highlight for me was the 08 and brake vans first thing in the morning, but the rest was well worth staying all day for. Not least the excellent Cornish pasties in the buffet at Bodmin General!
