A message on SWRG this afternoon. <BJ>
''Railmotor seen on low loader heading west on M4 between Swindon and Chippenham at 1510.'' Thanks to Andy Harkness.

''Railmotor Weekend - Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October. A fantastic opportunity to sample travel behind the unique Great Western Railway Railmotor No 93, built at Swindon in 1908 – its first visit away from its Didcot home since completion of its restoration last year. Several other GWR locomotives in action working an intensive timetable. A unique celebration of the GWR Cornish branch line!''

''SPECIAL timetable. More details nearer the time''

The website upgrade seems to be taking a very long time - that message has been there for several months.

Well, Tuesday has come and gone but there's still no sign of any information about the event on the BWR website, or on their Facebook page for that matter.

I'll definitely be there on Sunday, but I'd rather like to know in advance what's running on what train and (most importantly) when the day's operations actually start.

Thanks for the link to the timetable - it'll be an early start to drive down from South Wales, but not quite as early as I had feared!.

Shame that, they've been working flat out to get it ready too.
Still in spite of the revised timetable, had an enjoyable few hours there this afternoon.

Some photos from the Sunday of the BWR Railmotor Weekend are now online at my Zenfolio site here -http://mickrogers.zenfolio.com/p730881504

Despite not being able to run the advertised service because of locomotive failures, the BWR put on a great show with a revised timetable using the Railmotor and 2-6-2T no. 5552 on the carmine and cream set.

Anyone who gets the chance should take a ride in the Railmotor - the quality of its resoration is quite exceptional.

    Cheers,
    Mick
