Bodmin & Wenford Railway - STEAM GALA & REAL ALE FESTIVAL - 7-9 September

    Confirmed guest loco is GWR 4-6-0 No 7812 Erlestoke Manor, which appears courtesy of the Severn Valley Railway and Erlestoke Manor Fund. Is this the first 'Manor' to work in Cornwall since BR withdrew steam traction in the county...?

    Other locos scheduled to appear (subject to availability) are 4247, 5552, 30587 & 30120.

    All 5 engines were once based at a Cornish shed at some stage in their GWR/BR career!

    There will be an intensive timetable on all three days, and the Real Ale Festival at Bodmin General is certainly not to be missed!

    Yes I believe it is. I will hopefully be attending on the Friday of the gala. Looking forward to seeing 4247 in the flesh, as well as experiencing a Beattie tank for the first time!

    7812 & tender seen M5 s/b south of Bristol late this afternoon en-route to the B&WR for this event.
