Are there any plans to extend this railway as of 2012 and beyond?

The principal objective of the BWR at the present time is to secure a 35-year Lease on the existing 6.5 miles of trackbed (Cornwall Council owns the land and station building at Bodmin General, whilst the BWR owns the track), thus giving the BWR better security of tenure. Negotiations have been ongoing for over two years now, but agreement over the detail of a new Lease is now in the final stages. Thereafter, it remains a long term objective to extend the line (in stages) an additional 4.5 miles from Boascarne Junction to Wadebridge (Guineaport), but there remain a number of hurdles to overcome, not least the raising of the necessary finance....
