    This year's Border Raider with 60163 is now on the UKRT website. 1st December, running in reverse to last year, so doing S&C outward and WCML return - pickup/drop-off stations are the same as last years. Those of us wanting 60163 going over Shap would perhaps be best served by Pathfinder's 50th anniversary trip in August (in which there will be 2 other steam trips running as well).

    A long day at a time of year when the train leaves Birmingham before sunrise and gets back well over six hours after sunset. On the face of it, based on the provisional times, it may not even be returning down the WCML in daylight.

    As a regular supporter of the Border Raider, there is no way that this one will attract my pounds at this time of year. Even a twelve hour day from Crewe to Crewe offers travel in the dark for some interesting bits.

    Think you are correct Al if they really expect over two hours in Carlisle then I can not see any of the return being in daylight at that time of the year.
