The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Association are offering a 20T brake van for sale to be moved from the railway. The vehicle is believed to be in good operational condition and has recently been used as a Santa's grotto (although this has been removed I believe).

    Open to sensible offers.

    See http://www.e-v-r.com/stocksale/

Will try and get a photograph shortly.

Seems an odd sort of thing to part with - do you have a glut of them?

Yeah the railway has many brake vans on site, too many to be in line with the railways "useful stock" policy so the owner decided to offer it for sale.

I don't know much about the vehicle but I believe it is through-piped. I also don't know how much they want for it, you will have to contact them.

FYI, I am told that after a lot of interest, the brake van has been sold.

One of our members at Llangollen has a B.R. brake van for sale, although not advertised anywhere.
It appears to need an amount of joinery work, but doesn't look too bad. If you p.m. me with your contact details I will pass them on to him. He lives in Llangollen so is handy for viewing purposes.

    Bob.
