Neil, a thread on this site dated 3.2.09 apparently showed a link to photo of 72003 'Clan Fraser' dated 22.7.63. My interest in this topic is trying to establish the exact date and manner in which 72000/1/2/3/4 were tranferred from Parkhead mpd to Darlington works where scrapping commenced in Feb '64. Any photo of 72003 taken on 22.7.63 and the location would be very helpful. I have evidence that sister loco 72002 was still at Parkhead on 26.7.63 and confirmation that it was at photographed at Darlington on 13.10.63. Can you assist?

The following information taken from RCTS Railway Observers November & December 1963 may be of interst to you.
12th September 1963. 72000-4 lined up on Eastfield depot being prepared for move to Darlington along with V1/V3s 67600/21/80.
28th September 1963. 72000-3 on Darlington shed. 72004 in Works yard.
26th October 1963 72004 had been cut up. 72000 in the scrap yard.

Unfortunately I do not have any Railway Observers from 1964 to continue the story.

Many thanks. The annoying thing for me is that I was in Glasgow for 3 weeks in Aug/early Sept '63 and Parkhead was the only shed not visited. I visited Eastfield on three occasions, but sadly no sign of the Clans.

If anyone has a photo of withdrawn Scots 46102/04 at Corkerhill at this time I'd be interested to hear from them, also searching for photos of the 5 withdrawn Jubilees at Lugton.
