Passing the station on my way to work this morning I noticed that the CPR have steamed up the recently arrived BR standard 2-6-4T (can't remember which one it is) and it was running around the station area. Today is scheduled to be a diesel day but I believe there is a 'murder mystery special' this evening that requires steam.

Standard tank 80072 is scheduled to stay at Chinnor until January 2013.

Tomorrow (16/09) 80072 is scheduled to work the 11.10, 13.30, 15.00 and 16.30 departures from Chinnor. The 10.00 and 12.20 will be worked

The adult fare is £ 9.50 which gives unlimited travel for the day.

If only they had updated their website, I would have been there, with three other fare paying adults - I was within ten miles of the line today, visiting family. I've never copped 80072 and I really like this friendly, characterful railway!

I know that it's a constant gripe of mine, but if railways want to attract paying customers, they must show some marketing initiative.
