    Dimensions from BR drawing are:-

Total plug length including head is 2.625"
Thread length is 1.625" leaving 1" length of head
    Head is 1.270"/1.300" square
Taper of plug is 0.125" on dia per inch of length, ie 1 in 8 taper
Small end of thread is 1.375" dia for No1 size,
Diameter of small end increases by 1/16" for each subsequent size
biggest size on drawing is No11 which is 2" dia at small end
Thread 12 TPI British Standard Whitworth form cut square to centre line of plug

If you are thinking of making these yourself, make absolutely sure that the plug taper is precisely the same as the tap which you use for the holes. Material should be leaded gunmetal to BS1400 LG4. There should be a guidance note on washout plugs published by the Heritage Railway association out shortly on the web if it isn't already published.
