BREAKING NEWS: TORNADO OUT OF NNR GALA

The North Norfolk Railway have just advised Railway Herald Magazine that because Network Rail have refused permission for Peppercorn A1 Pacific No. 60163 Tornado to travel through a section near Alton, reportedly due to over-running work, the locomotives visit to the North Norfolk Railway Gala this coming weekend has had to be cancelled.
The disappointment follows the failure, during a steam test, of No. 30777 Sir Lamiel, ruling that locomotive out of the gala as well. Sir Lamiel has been replaced by 'N2' No. 1744, which will be in steam for the gala and stay with the NNR until after its 'Famous Forties Weekend' on 21st/22nd September.
