On the Caledonian Railway (Brechin), there are 3 Austerities stored at Bridge of Dun station, two of which have their boilers in place. I believe they are works numbers 2759, 2749 and 2879, with the latter being Hunslet and the other two being Bagnall. Does anyone have any info regarding them, especially concerning 2879? Is there a reason its boiler has been taken off? Is the boiler still on the railway? Just out of pure curiosity.

I can remember seeing No.6 in steam on my only visit to the railway in the early 1990s.
