Saturday 19/02/2011 (plus Sunday 20th) and a evening photoshoot at Bury Station on the East Lancashire Railway.
Different from the shed shoots I have been to in the past. This was trying to set the scene of the late 1950`s on the station with members of the Railway dressed in period dress and the use of two engines with different carriage stock.
The first engine used which was in steam was BR Std 5 - 73129 with BR Red Mk 1 coaching stock as an express passenger service.
The 2nd engine was BR Black 5 45337 attached to a parcels train being loaded before departure.
The station was flood lighted where necessery and parcels and sacks littered the platform waiting to be loaded. The damp atmosphere, wet platform edges from early rain plus lots of steam from 73129 all added to the ambiance of the night.
I would like to thank the ELR staff and volunteers who acted the parts for their time to make it a very enjoyable evening taking pictures,

    John
PS I know Brief encounter was made in 1945 and not the late 1950`s ;) so no comments about that please
