The waterbus service on the Lancaster Canal is back to normal after repair work was carried out.

The canal sprung a leak and had to be closed, which meant the waterbus was unable to offer its service between Carnforth and Lancaster.

Operator Budgie Transport said the daily booked service, that calls at the waterbus stops at Bolton Le Sands and Hest Bank, has now resumed.

Engineers also carried out essential repair work on the Lune Aqueduct.

The water was drained away so the floor of the canal could be investigated after a leak was found in the lining.
