Have just received a letter from Vintage Trains to say this trip is cancelled due to the derogation process to rectify the locomotive for operation on Network Rail taking longer than originally anticipated.

Hopefully this trip will be offered again in the not too distant future.

Seems a bit odd to choose to cancel instead of postpone then.

As has been seen before the derogation process can be a nightmare and totally unpredictable. An application can get mired in muddy politics nothing to do with the actual matter in question. Not impressive but if this is what is going on better to cancel and rearrange when the paperwork is complete in my view.
