I've spent another few days looking through my old videos and editing another carriage hunting video together. This one is from 1997 and was a far more productive adventure where we got to see a shed load of LMS (and other) carriages.

Highlights include an L&Y carriage at a farm that resembled a railway yard, a few chats with the farmers gathering information, a vacuum gauge and an LMS BT (20103) that appears in Volume 3 of the LMS Standard Coaching Stock book by Jenkinson and Essery (Page 79 ;) )

Anyway, make sure you have a cup of tea, put your feet up and enjoy a carriage hunting adventure with us:

Many familiar locations featured, some little changed a decade later, others less so. Even features a farmer with whom I shared a few drams one evening.

It is presumed all carriages shown were listed on the LMSCA listing and thus I will have visited in more recent times. It would though be interesting to see a few long shot stills, particularly of those not pictured on the VCT website. Perhaps something the VCT and LMSCA could work together on. I believe the VCT aim is to include all those that once existed in Aberdeenshire as well as those that no longer do.

Ermmm...well...I took the video and I know everything was noted, but I would have to site down with Harv to link every one with the locations and what is on the photos and video. We had the two local OS maps and highlighted all the roads we traversed and also compared notes with our friends in the LNERCA.

I certainly photographed as much as I could, including the details where I could. Most of the photos I took are part of a display that Harv pulled together. (I have a number of the spare photos next to me as I typing this!) I still have the original Advantix negatives and it would be great to pull everything together to make an as complete record as possible.

It would be quite a project and take me quite a bit of time to do unfortunately. Something I would like to do, but I'm not sure how my time is going to play out with the other things I have on my plate. Having said that, I still have at least one more video to pull together, where we took one of the carriages to bits, which should be sort of entertaining and sad at the same time.

I'll keep working on these whilst I can and see where we get to.
