Two thieves have been arrested and charged for the theft of the chairs. About 25 have been recovered. Northumberland Police have informed us that they have been each sentenced to 200 hours community service, one has had his driving licence suspended and the car used in the thefts, a Vauxhall worth some £5,000, has been seized. They also have to pay £1000 compensation to the Society.
A satisfying conclusion to an unwarranted event.
