Apparently 6201 has failed and is likely to be out of service for some considerable time.

Doesn't sound good. Any idea of the nature of the problem?

The Rly Herald a couple of weeks back mentioned retubing and new tender tyres amongst other things. Also said work to follow 46233 winter maintenance and repaint to 6233.

How can you be so knackered a year out of an overhaul with very little running since ?, failures happen but a retube and retyring so soon sounds very odd.

It's what the report said but it may be inaccurate of course.
PRCLT have a stack of work with 6233, 6201, 44767 and 80080 all in the shops in one way or another.

Certainly made my morning during my commute in. With my usual tube line having delays I was taking the overground from Finsbury Park and north of the station saw what looked like a 33. And 30 seconds later through glides the Duchess gleaming on the back of the rake of coaches on the ECS move. The rest of the commuters trying to ram themselves into EMU's didn't quite know what to make of it!

Does 6201 have any formal link with the PRCLT bar using their workshop space, assume Tyseley where she was based for the recently completed overhaul don't have the space to accommodate her at the moment?

And 5 miles 16 chains further down the line it had shaved off another 4 minutes, to be only 5 late, and will shortly be bumping into the late running Letchworth stopper.

Not surprised it's catching up time - RTT has it at a 60mph timing!

6233 Belongs to the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust (PRCLT)

6201 Belongs to the Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society.

I infer, possibly incorrectly, that the 6201 group have entered some form of support arrangement with PRCLT which has workshop and expertise capacity. Recent other contract work has included 70013 and 44767.
I assume the arrangement with Tyseley ended at the point of recertification. As you say Tyseley has a fairly extensive order book.

    Nice one Spamcan.
