Times are up for this one (steam on return leg only):

Hope SD have better luck with this than they did on Saturday. I can't see a seperate path for the diesel back from BH so presumably it will be on the back?

More to the point, I hope that the passengers who were delighted to learn of the train leaving from KGX at a sensible time in the morning are just as pleased to see a return shortly before midnight when all other trains are shutting down. Three hours from Peterborough, including an hour in Connington Loop is simply ridiculous.

With three trains available to get you back by 10 pm you can see some people baling out even with the extra cost of doing so. Hardly a brilliant day out in my view.

Shocking timings for a 75mph registered engine. They'll have their work cut out keeping the fire in.

One linked item of note. This was the first steam train through the new Ilkeston station, which opened last Sunday, 2nd April. I was amazed how many local people turned out to see the steam train at their new station. Adjacent is the highly regarded Dewdrop https://whatpub.com/pubs/ERE/12793/dewdrop-ilkeston.

Also pleased to see how many commuters are already using the train to/from Nottingham.
