I will be on this, and will send updates to Railtours live.

Times up on UK Steam 4 hours 20 on the way to Chester ( Compared with just under 5 hours for the runs by the Duchess and Tornado last year), and 4 hours 40 on the return ( compared with 4 hours 50 ditto).

There are several good spots between Mill Meece (north of Eccleshall) and the Summit at Madeley for the northbound runs. I think there may be something just north of Madeley for the southbound runs in the evening, but it's a few years since I went up that way and it may be more overgrown. Both locations are a fair way from any stations, though probably on bus routes.

I'll be at Althorpe, just outside Northampton, in the morning, en route to Stoke Bank to see Bittern in her new clothes.

That's very kind of you, Paul. The important thing is if the train's delayed for any reason, or booked stops are changed. When 71000 went to Shrewsbury a few weeks ago, I heard about the changes to the water stop in good time, and was able to divert to take advantage.

Passed Kings Langley at about 08:05 (slightly early?), with clear road ahead.

Thanks for the update Paul, I assume it was you. Lizzie sounded superb, I could hear her coming for almost two minutes, gradually accelerating all the time. Video will be posted in the morning, editing PC on a go slow.

Just as a break from 5043 and as a comparison at the same location, I was able to fit in a shot of Lizzie on Madeley Bank.
I started the camera running when I first head that distictive beat, little did I realise that she was so far away, anyway wind up the volume.

Superb sound track Ralph. We've got her on the GN soon and if I can get sound half as good as that, I'll be one happy bunny.
