Yes. It passed through the Shrivenham gloom at 13.05. 'Had to fight for a path with diverted HSTs from the Berks and Hants line.

I went up to Cholsey, where she put on a great burst of power after drifting through the station, and gave us a nice whistle too. Gloomy up there too, but worth the trip.

Sound is rubbish on the video as the wind was very strong!

Good video though, Stephen, battling against the elements. Wonder why there is so much 'stuff' stored next to the railways (loadsof white bags to the left of pic). I reckon thats a good setting though, country style station; bit different to Reading !!! Pete

Probably has something to do with the wires going up along the GW, they're at it everywhere, as can be seen in this video from a mate of mine, taken at Iver - If you wait until he's panned round you'll see all sorts going on, even the line of trees is rapidly disappearing and after next week that's it for two years, and when the specials start again there will be a lot of people looking for new vantage points!

Thanks for the nice comment James. I've not seen a shot at Middle Hill Tunnel on YouTube. Guess it's overshadowed by nearby big brother - Box Tunnel. Regards, Dave.

    Dave,

Thanks for the video. Could I ask whether you were on the public side of the fence to take the second shot? I can't see a fence, so it's a little difficult to tell.

    Cheers,
    Graham

Absolutely on public side. The road leads to a small commercial property and is also a Network Rail access point. NR have a substantial padlocked gate at the end of the road - I was standing behind it. As an aside, the employees of the Company occupying the commercial property all came out to watch about 5 minutes before the train was due. A friendly bunch. They realised I was filming a video and promised to keep quiet when the train arrived, and they did.

    Dave.
