    Hi Everyone,

Maybe someone can give me some info about two coaches that have appeared at the MHR last week. The only info I can tell you is the coach numbers CC99014 and CC99015.I’m led to believe both coaches are only staying for a short stay and will be departing for the Isle of White Railway. This is because they couldn’t or were unable to get on the Isle of White ferry.

    Thanks

You are correct the 2 Southern bogie vans are destined for the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and yes their were problems with the ferry!

The Mid Hants railway very kindly offered a port in a storm while the transport problems are sorted out.

The 2 vans will initialy be used as stores but will eventually provide underframes for our grounded LCDR bogie coach bodies. We are very lucky as these as far as I am aware the only bogie LCDR coaches in exsistance!

That's what one of my spy's told me today at Alresford. Nice to see we can help each other out in a crisis.

Both vans are now at Havenstreet, they were delivered over the last couple of weeks. It is a shame that the bearings were robbed from them during there time at Horsham.:mad2:

Many, many thanks to the Mid Hants Railway who provided storage for us until the onward ferry trip could be sorted out.

Now that answers my question? While attending the O2's visit to the MHR, I noticed a van parked up in a layby on the A31 between Alresford and the Percy Hobs roundabout near Winchester. Ever the curious, I stopped and took a couple of pictures on my way back in case anyone could enlighten me as to what was happening to it.

Well there you go! My question has been answered without it even being asked

Picking up Gary's point about the bearings being stolen - I am sure that he would be very pleased to hear from anyone who has some spares. I believe that they are SR standard, but maybe Gary can clarify.
