Changing Places

Just wanted to raise awareness of the Changing Places campaign

    http://www.changing-places.org/Default.aspx

"Thousands of people need the Changing Places toilets that would help them to enjoy the day to day activities many of us take for granted.
The Changing Places Consortium has launched its campaign on behalf of those people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers, as well as many other disabled people.
They need Changing Places toilets with enough space and the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist."

And if any of our heritage railways are planning to refurbish or create accessible toilets for their visitors they might like to consider building it as a Changing Place which would offer a truly much needed facility for those unable to use normal toilets or (so-called) accessible toilets. Of course a Changing Place costs a lot of money and I doubt any heritage railway could fund one - but - I believe local authorities may (still) be interested in part funding as are local charities. To have a Changing Place is good for the provider and an absolute godsend for the user.

    Just a thought.
