Chiltern Railways is to trial Boxing Day services between Bicester and London, becoming the latest operator hoping to meet the demand set by sales’ shoppers.

Trains will travel from Bicester North and London Marylebone, calling at Haddenham and Thame Parkway, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross and Wembley Stadium.

Services will operate between 8am and 8pm, and as an extra incentive, Chiltern has said it will waive parking charges at all stations along the route.

Thomas Ableman, commercial director at Chiltern Railways, said: “We know that many people are itching to get out and about on Boxing Day which is why we’re trialling a train service on part of our route this year.”

Last month, Southeastern announced plans to run a half-hourly service between Ashford International, Ebbsfleet International, Stratford International and St Pancras International between 8am and 8pm.
