Anyone know the reason behind the late running of the stock off of Letchworth?

I passed the ECS on Digswell viaduct at 06.18 this morning. At least I assume that's what it was, too dark to see properly and I was half asleep.

A quick shot of 60007 at Colton this afternoon, was expecting a lot more snow! Trust it all to melt the day before...

It was a good trip behind SNG which seemed to be enjoyed by all. I heard from a steward that the delay caused to the ECS at Letchworth was due to being put behind a fast and an all stations. This was after the 57 had been moved from the front to the rear, as it was required to work as a barrier for the return journey. The delay was reduced to under 30 mins by Retford, but increased time taken watering at Donny pushed us back to a 53 min arrival into York. The return after a late departure ran mostly early with a 20 min early departure from Peterborough. This however was lost as we were held just outside for a Stansted train to overtake, with us arriving on time back into Ely. Thanks to all involved.
