Enjoyed seeing the Christmas Yorkshireman passing through a deserted Chiswick station in the rain at 7am on the same day last year.

But the current info on the RTC site seems to suggest a shorter route out of London this time?

"Our train leaves London Victoria at around 6:30 hauled by Union of South Africa and travels around West London through Kensington Olympia and Neasden."

    Last year:

RTT seems to show the York ecs moves - 5Z53/5Z60/5Z54 but nothing more. One step at a time I suppose!

Not a trip from London for the fainthearted. Around eight hours up and six hours back plus the absence of any separate path suggests that they are taking a DL with them.

RTT now displays the return Times, strangely there is no outward Times yet...

[p-Times] went up on UKsteaminfo yesterday but the link currently leads to "File Not Found".

Thanks Paul. Cleared the cache but still the same - but worked on another computer. Glad to see Chiswick / South Acton are due to be graced again by The Christmas Yorkshireman!

Can't wait for this tour tomorrow - booked back in early October at winning £100 voucher on The Wandering 1500 back on the 5th that month. Will post updates during the journey from Luton.

And as with the same Saturday last year, it's pouring down in west London. RTT report it arrived at London Victoria at 0541.

Still no sign of it at Chiswick. Weybridge bound train scheduled just before was 23 late. Now simply "delayed".

tempted as I was by the rarity of a steam excursion on the line to Bedford, or the Harringworth viaduct, another early start and rain lashing on the windows conspired to give me back problems. The unwillingness to get it off my bed basically.
