I saw her trundle through Woking today once the down Alton had cleared.
Nice blast on the whistle as she passed through.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the origin of the route disk set up. On the Western this would be a parcels or fast freight but on the Southern I don't know. Maybe this was correct for trains transversing this route?

Yes I am an active volunteer
I've checked the George Pryer Southern Signalling book and this route code (not train class) covered quite a few routes.

Victoria or Battersea Yard and Brighton via Quarry Line
London Bridge or New Cross Gate and Norwood Yard
    Tunbridge Wells West and Eastbourne
Victoria or Holborn Viaduct and Dover or Ramshate or Hastings via Nunhead and Tonbridge
    Horsham and Guildford
Waterloo or Nine Elms and Southampton Docks via East Putney
Salisbury and Portsmouth & Southsea or Harbour via Eastleigh

These were Southern Railway routes (probably 1930's) and the routes for this code would have changed over the years.

    Cheers, Neil

Missed out on Clan Line today.

I was having a "Super Sixcoupled Southern Summer Saturday"!

With rides behind FOUR ex SR sixcoupled steam locos. 31065, 31592, 31638 and 34059.

Four locos who once had numbers 5 digits long starting with a 3. Yes, I was in heaven.

For a few hundred pounds more I could have added a fifth. I guess!
