As the title suggests, 6940 is working our four trip diesel diagram at Llangollen this Sunday after successful testing and follow-up exams last weekend.

The loco is returning to traffic after repairs following a water leak into the oil system caused by frost damage to the heat exchanger, which has kept her out of traffic in 2011 until now.

More details, including a timetable on our website: http://www.llangollen-diesels.org.uk/?page_id=12

    Many thanks

Thanks to those who came along on last Sunday to support us. Fancy doing it again on the 18th June or perhaps you missed the 5th?

6940 will now be used on our 18th June 4 trip diagram as well in place of D5310 to try and even up engine hours.

After two successful similar events last month, 6940 is out and about again this Saturday working our final four trip running diagram of the year. Class 47 D1566 may also join her top and tail for the last trip of the day, if the Class 47 is passed as fit to run after further work to prepare her for a return to traffic this week. The Type 4 took power and moved around Llangollen yard last Friday, but still has a couple of things to sort before she can return to passenger work.

As you will see on the thread in the gala section, both locos will be joining Class 26 D5310 and Class 31 5580, along with 3 steam locos and the Class 109 DMU at our 60's weekend at the end of the month. It will be quite a traction fest!
