I wonder if this was ever envisaged for a class 92?

For a period during July 2000 and June 2001 Class 92s were used on MGR services from Scottish sources to Fiddlers Ferry / Trent Valley between Carlisle and Warrington / Bescot as a regular practice; unusual perhaps but economic when electricity prices were low. In some cases the train had a Class 66 behind the loco to continue to the power station / loading point on non-electrified lines.
This image suggests a start point earlier than the first working I recorded in July 2000.
