One would have thought that by now they will have managed to release Les Ross from Rugby giving it plenty of time to trundle up to Preston for this evening.

Thanks. I'm a little out of touch with the UK rail scene these days.

Unlikely to find anyone to move the tamper during the day. There was a rail grinder in the adjacent siding so options for shifting stuff round were limited.

So does anyone get a kick up the **** for blocking it in or will it just be a shrug of the shoulders and not my problem mate?

I wondered who would cough up for any delay minutes that the use of a diesel rather than an electric may have caused. Would it be NR as a signalling (I guess) issue for having it there, or whoever operates the equipment, although that is probably on behalf of NR anyway. Or as the LE move ended up being cancelled does everyone say well there was no delay.

Going well in dire conditions. Good to see some proper squirrels too. Were they at the Shap car park?

At R&W sounds like BIL has slipped to a halt around the old Wilpshire station.

Glad to see the squirrels are still there. I thought they might have moved on after all those trees were felled.
