    Work on a new rail freight terminal in Telford is due to start this month. The terminal at Donnington is expected to be open within the next year.

    It could be handling up to 750,000 tonnes of freight every year.

    It is hoped the terminal will attract millions of pounds worth of investment to the borough and protect jobs.

    Carillion has won the contract for the connection to the national rail system and commissioning is scheduled for the end of October following the launch of the work this month.
