Yesterday I travelled on LSL's "Cornish Riviera Statesman" which went from Derby to Penzance. The train was double-headed throughout by 47712 "Lady Diana Spencer" in ScotRail livery and 47805 "Roger Hosking" in two tone green livery.

The outward journey was on time throughout, including a non-stop run from Bristol to Plymouth. The return journey left Penzance on time but got delayed for around 15 minutes by a fallen tree around Liskeard. The time was soon made up though, but the service trains were badly affected. The platforms at Plymouth were heaving when we paused there briefly, and my quick glance at the station screens saw multiple delays listed.

Here a few photos I took at Plymouth and Penzance, including exterior and interior shots of the Mk2 coach I was in. 20230805_133332.jpg 20230805_111101.jpg 20230805_105958.jpg 20230805_150911.jpg 20230805_135221.jpg 20230805_111032.jpg

It's a new dimension in travel and big windows make quite a difference even if they don't open.
