Creekmoor Light Railway- Fojo

    Hello All,

    Just been reading the Somerset and Dorset NG Book, and was woundering the condition and whereabouts of the 1921 O&K 0-6-0WT Fojo, that ran on the Creekmoor Light Railway in Dorset.

    The book states the loco moved to Hertfordshire when the line closed and renamed Nantmoor. It then went to the Ffestiniog for restoration. Is the loco still there, and whats its status?

    The frames were still at Minfordd the last I heard, and I think the boiler was sent to the SVR for repair but no doubt someone here will have more info on the subject.

    Have a look at the loco's Festipedia entry here. AFAIK the frames are still in Minffordd yard.

    Herefordshire not Hertfordshire! To the now disbanded collection of John Quentin. And as I understand it, the loco went to the Welsh Highland first I believe, then John Quentin, then Surrey, then FR.

    When I last looked I'm sure there was a boiler I hadn't seen before sat near to the frames so that may well also be in Minffordd Yard now.

    Its on the FR waiting for workshop space i believe, but that could be years away. O&K didn't build things to last they expected you to run your engine into the ground then buy a new one off them. So it needs rather a lot of work I'm afraid. Last time i looked the boiler was sat with the frames in Minffordd yard.

    I know the WHHR have disposed of a number of locos in the past is this the one that has now gone to Leighton Buzzard?

    Incidently, Fojo was imported from Portugal together with Pedemoura and Sao Domingos (Great Bush Railway).
    They arrived in the early to mid 70s.
