CSR Sifang produces first ForCity tram

Chinese rolling stock manufacturer CSR Sifang has built its first ForCity tram after purchasing the license from Škoda Transportation.

A prototype vehicle is now ready to be presented to potential customers across China, Škoda has said.

CSR Sifang purchased a 10-year license for the technology in June 2013.

With more than 170 cities with a population of over a million people, the manufacturer is looking to tap into the significant demand for mass transport in China.

To date, more than 150 Chinese technicians have undergone training at ŠkodaTransportation factories.
