Chicago’s transit authority (CTA) has appointed Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) to oversee the delivery of rail projects throughout the city.

The company will provide construction management services for Chicago transport projects, starting with the $220 million Red Line track renewal programme.

The scope of PB’s role will also include safety, engineering support and quality assurance.

As well as the track reconstruction from 16th Street to 95th Street, PB will be involved in the station improvement project along the line. This will involve the modernisation of eight stations along the Red Line branch.

The majority of construction work is expected to be completed on both projects in less than five months.
