Booked on this tour but no word on motive power or which way around the circuit it will run. Carnforth-Shap- Carlisle and back via Workington as the one earlier this year or as advertised by RTC?
Moved to this from the Tin Bath.
    Regards, John.

I understand that it is most likely that it will be as last time, ie Shap out, coast return.

Probably not likely to be 45699 again? 46115 to do the honours again perhaps?

I wouldn't say no to 46115. However, still awaiting tickets, so presumably final timings haven't been received. Seems to be a bit of a theme on tours in the north-west at the moment if today's trip behind 5972 is anything to go by.

Do you mean since the Great Briton and previous CCE in April with 46115 or for other locos?

A strange discrepancy with the trailing weights north and south on RTT. A mistake I'm sure. I agree about the ability to keep up to pace with the 8 as it seems the usual hour and ten or so from Carnforth.

The third recent substitution of the 8 for the expected Scot or Jubilee.

The load of 12( 10 coaches with passengers according to letter plus Kitchen Car and Support coach) would have been too much for 45699 over Shap.

If the load was/is 12 or more on the other trips this might be too much for 45699 over the S & C ?

    Isn't the Fellsman routinely 12?
Still a surprise the 8 rather than Scot has been rostered if the load is too great for 45699.

True, but it does say...'or loco to be advised'.

The point being made was, has the Scot superseded the 8f or vice versa !

RTC website has been updated and states 8F. It had previously stated 45699.
