Couldn't see a thread for this...apologies if it's hidden somewhere. Anyone know what's rostered for this?

Ideal machine for the coast run. She won't be starting any fires today. Horrible weather here by the seaside!

Dalston, plenty of time to nip across for Tornado.

It's a pity that I hadn't got the news that Tornado had bee rerouted over Shap. I'd have avoided a soaking. I saw the smoke and heard the whistle as it left Carlisle and then stood in the rain wondering why it was taking so long. By the time I twigged, it must have been passing Penrith. 48151--(27)-1000web.jpg

Certainly is. I looked at it before I went back to where I took my shot. The wind was ferocious.

Always impressed by the 8f's reliability, one of the stalwarts of main line steam.

Has the class 8 had a extension (a retube) to its current boiler ticket?

Surely if there had been a retube then it would not be worth petting her back in service on just an extension of say 12 months, a full overhaul would make more sense.
