Todays train (22nd Aug) is running late due to it not being at Liverpool at the booked departure time. Will probably be an hour late leaving Carnforth Northbound.

I think departure should be on time at 1447, as that is still two hours after arrival one hour late.

The late running is not down to the loco. Departure from Lime Street was delayed because the ECS arrived late. 6201 reached Carnforth 40 down. After watering it was held until there was a 40 minute gap in services over Shap. Booked departure at 1022 was timed to hit such a gap.

RalphW - perhaps worth starting a thread for this train?

    Cheers

LMS Pacifics in the North West 21 - 22 August 2009

The Railway Touring Company have had an intensive programme of steam specials based in the North West this August, with an impressive motive power lineup.

On Friday 21 August I saw Stanier 4-6-2 No 6233 Duchess of Sutherland climbing through Stalybridge on its way to Scarborough. On Saturday 22 August, No 6201 Princess Elizabeth left Liverpool over an hour late for Carlisle via Shap, but it was on time at Appleby on the return, prior to its climb southward over Ais Gill and back to Liverpool via Blackburn.

A short video of Lizzie at Galgate, Salterwath and Garsdale now up at:-

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eOHHvu-uEA

As reported elsewhere - 30 minutes late approaching Lancaster (apparently due to the late arrival of the empty coaching stock or maybe taking extra water at Preston) and an hour late on the climb to Shap (having been held for 40 minutes awaiting a path). Around 15 early at Garsdale.
